Business in Development Challenge Peru

Business in Development Challenge is an on-line global business plan competition that challenges entrepreneurs to develop and execute innovative business plans with growth potential. We do this to stimulate local economic growth and generate jobs and income in emerging markets. BiD Network operates the BiD Challenge from 10 countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa. The BiD Network sources and selects business plans of small and medium sized enterprises in emerging markets. BiD Network offers tools to the best entrepreneurs, paving the way for them to access finance.

In Peru, this contest is the first to be focused on entrepreneurs with small enterprises and business ideas with an international context. In Latin America this contest takes place simultaneously in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

The contest has received more then 2,000 business proposals worldwide since its beginning. It has given free personal coaching to more than 180 entrepreneurs to help them develop their business plans. It has awarded the best projects cash prizes and has developed contacts between entrepreneurs and investors.

For the BiD Challenges Peru 2007 & 2008, there were over 700 business plans received, from which 413 were complete, while the webpage received 40,000 visits.
